Summary of the 1st International Symposium on Tumor-Host Interaction in Head and Neck Cancer
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It was our great pleasure to welcome you to the 1st International Symposium on Tumor-Host Interaction in Head and Neck Cancer, January 22–24, 2015 in Essen, Germany. The outstanding success of this symposium with nearly 200 participants in total would not have been possible without your support!
The symposium continued the series of annual meetings on experimental head and neck oncology in collaboration with the Working Group Oncology of the German Society of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology. This time we gathered international experts on an emerging and relevant topic in head and neck oncology in order to exchange and discuss the most recent developments in this field. With the help
of our international advisory board we compiled a state-of-the-art program.
We brought together young and senior scientists for a lively exchange. Innovative topics in Head and Neck Oncology have been presented and discussed by renowned invited speakers from all over the world. Our top notch program offered an excellent platform for the exchange of knowledge, experiences and numerous discussions during the different sessions, as well as a lively interaction with industrial exhibitors. The new and innovative topic of our symposium was received with great enthusiasm, and therefore will be continued.
It was exciting and a great pleasure to organize the 1st International Symposium in Head and Neck Cancer. We would like to thank everyone for travelling to Essen and joining the symposium: The scientists for submitting and presenting their results and discussing their issues, the sponsors and the industry exhibitors for enabling the meeting and all of our participants who made the symposium a great success. They all contributed to the spirit of this symposium that became an extraordinary meeting in Essen.
